Research Park Masterplan to be unveiled

In line with council requirements, the proposal for the Hanchett End site, identified by St Edmundsbury Borough Council for employment uses, seeks to deliver an impressive "gateway” development to the town. Plans for the site, which is located adjacent to the Spirit of Enterprise roundabout, comprise a high quality business / research park set within an attractive, well-landscaped environment, incorporating landmark buildings. In addition, Carisbrooke Investments is proposing for approximately one-third of the site to be used to provide a compatible mix of higher value commercial and residential uses.
The exhibition at which the draft proposals will be on display, will take place in the Falcon Suite at the Days Inn Hotel, Phoenix Road between 2.00pm and 8.00pm.
Director Nic Rumsey who is leading the project said:
"We believe that the proposals planned for the Hanchett End site have tremendous potential to stimulate local investment, create new employment opportunities while also meeting other important local needs.”
Nic added:
"With work now moving forward on the Masterplan, Carisbrooke Investments is keen to ensure that the local community has an opportunity to provide feedback ahead of the proposals being finalised and subsequently discussed by the council.

The Masterplan proposals currently being developed will outline how the site will be developed, the location of the proposed uses alongside access arrangements, together with landscaping and design. Following its completion, the Masterplan will be submitted to the council for review and will need to be adopted prior to Carisbrooke Investments being able to lodge further detailed planning applications.
For those who are unable to attend the exhibition on 27 January but are interested in finding out more about the draft Masterplan proposals, an unmanned display will be located in the Days Inn Hotel until Friday 4 February.
